Hi, I've just been told my ECU is f***ed, is this a common thing with the tuono, mines a 2008. And is there anywhere they can be refurbed, I'm told £1800 for a new one. Any advice or anyone sitting on one let's chat, many thanks bri

Ouch!!
Do you know what killed it at all?????
The ecu on my 998 died and was told it would be £1200 but put a fully mapable Nemesis on for just over £600 but don't know if they do one for the Aprilia. Try giving Dave Wood racing a call in case he can recommend options. ( A top man based in Aylesbury) Tel: 01296 336750

Diagnostic came up as rear ignition coil, that got replaced and still the same result, my normal mechanic said the same about coil, and also pointed it to ECU. Southern cross where the bike is now, put an Rev ECU in it but with no joy, then put a customers ECU I it from the same year tuono, and it fired up. My was running on 1 cylinder before hand. So I guess it was that. But thanks I will check out Dave Woods. Cheers

Hi bearshead,
When my 998 ecu died it dropped onto to one cylinder so assumed it was just a coil which it was but it took the ecu with it so sounds similar.
Have a chat with Dave Wood he is a really friendly and knowledgable guy who bends over backwards to help his customers out. He drove over from Aylesbury to St. Neots Ducati to pick up my 998 as their "Ducati" mechanic was on holiday and I was booked on a ferry the following week. He only charged me the diesel and not the time.
A top man

I have a working spare ecu from a 2007 gen 2 . if anybody is interested send a PM thanks .

Are you offering to help bearshead1 or have you hijacked the thread to sell your ECU.

Gray

already sent bearshead a pm but its open to anyone , I rather only sell it to someone who has an ecu issues tho .
other wise it stays where it is .

i had the same issue .. bought a second hand ecu from a rsvr and sent to gabro for a reflash . Search my forum name for the thread.. but mine was the same .. only firing 1 coil

had a really similar problem with mine and it turned out to be the cam sensor ! easy to do yourself and cheap too ! check that first, I borrowed one from a mates bike and it fired up first time !!
