The Frozen ******* Wasteland!
In order to get as nobtastic sussing eBay gems as some of the other patrons of this forum, I now formally request some help. Those of you (nob) that are facile with this site could help in educating myself and any other dilettantes, that were to afraid to ask, on how to search, find, and bid on said gems. Kind of a T-Zone eBay for dummies as it were. Websites that provide said info, some basic info on bidding, that kind of thing would be gratefully appreciated. Really.

Thanks in advance.

Type in "ebay" and go down the list or pick the first one.
Type in the box what you are looking for andpress enter.
Run through and pick out what you want .
you can sign up (free) and save items you have looked at in "My Ebay"
Bid on what ever you want to.

Shove, its a piece of piss to sign up to ebay. Its basically the same as joining a forum or Facebook or summat.I always type in what I'm searching for on the homepage, all catagories. If you just check out thr 'motors' section, you may miss summat.Type in what you are searching for,i.e,"Aprilia Tuono" or summat more specific,"Aprilia exhaust".When I'm bidding on an item,I get the figure I want to pay in my head and stick with it.We dont want to get into a bidding war now,do we!?Rule of thumb for me is half new price, + or - 15% depending on condition.Fer instance,....Arrow Ti cans, excellent cond £350 + 15%+£400ish.Poor condition, around £300 absolute max.Always take the post/shipping into consideration. Some sellers bump up the shipping to get a better price for the item.
Good luck and get bidding!

Hamish, me old hairy fruit bat.

Sign up to eBay as detailed.
The way to find the bargains is to search all the alternate spellings, so search Aprilia, Aprilla, Aprillia etc. And Ackro, Akra, Ackropovic, etc. etc. people mistype or mis spell items all the time, I have had some real bargains this way. (£700 worth of Makita 18V powertools for £90 :) )
If you want a really serious punt at something, use an auction sniper website.
I use Auction Stealer sit and decide your absolute MAXIMUM price for the item, stick that in the sniper system - it links to ebay. It will post your bid about 10 seconds before the end, which doesn't give people much chance to out bid you. If you are outbid it doesn't add another tenner etc, so you can't get carried away. It is automatic, so you don't have to be online, or even in the house. Your bid will be the incremental amount above the previous highest bid.

Always bid odd ending numbers - $100.26 - if you don't you can lose out by a earlier max bid at $100.

Don't bid early - it just puts the price up, and beware shill bidders - if you bid early, some sellers log on with a mates/wife's account and push the bidding up (which is actually illegal in the UK.)

Try a message to the seller and ask for a BIN (Buy it now) price if it's something you really want need - most people have a figure in their head.

I sold some bike boots I had bought (too small) and only worn once, I put a BIN at £80 and they sold on auction for £110 - so it can work both ways.

You only need one thing Shovy, a good nose. Sniff em out.

Plenty spell things wrong to, like the Gilles chain adjuster I got was spelt Gilles Cain Adjusters so some wouldn't have spotted it.

I bought me Chevy Suburban off ebay from Austin Texas. At the time that model and year over here were 16-18 grand. I bought the car, imported it, got it sorted for our roads and mot'd/taxed for about 13. Ace exchange with the dollar at the time, almost half the squid.

And when you start to feel at ease with the 'Bay, after you have sat at your pc for hours, counting down the seconds until the end of the auction, and you've seen your first winning bid, and rejoiced in the elation, try this:

Bid on something you actually DON'T really want, and then hope you get outbid. Great fun!

Hector, yer a dick.
Keith, Pauly, and Steve, them was the kind of things that I was looking for. NEVER occurred to me to look for misspellings as I HATE typos. And LOVE the sniping idea that has a max bid.
Sparks, I don't intend to pull the pished and bidding trick that some of you seem to have perfected... ("did I really order that school dress mini fer her Indoors?" sound familiar?)

Signed up fer, got a SHITLOAD of stuff from Europe, so trying to narrow to North America. The list just got wayyyyyy shorter dammit.

Thanks mates. Every once in a while we delve intae being helpful and educational.

Off tae surf fatfingers now. Thanks pin! Going to get that sniping down today too!

I NEVER mentioned any names to keep the guilty from looking innocent... errrrmmm or something like that... The reason I remember that one the best is that it hit me at a perfect moment... I ******* HOWLED after reading that, expectorating a mouthful of tea as a preamble...

Gilo, you ARE my hero!

What they all said Shvl me old Knob.

PS: I didn't read past Nobby's reply, because I knew the advice you'd been given would be enough to get you out of any trouble you might find yourself in ( on the bloody interweb anyway) mate
