Ebay Bargain?

T

tokio

Hi all,

I have been after a Mille Factory for a while after selling my 749S and saw this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270427300596&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123. I put what I thought was a really low bid and won it.

I am now having second thoughts and have been looking around on the net at other bikes in this colour. It looks to have the wrong colour belly pan and also has a pillion seat. The guy said on the phone that it had not been crashed and he was selling for his uncle. I have HPI'd it and it has come back clear.

I am going to speak to him today and ask about service history and paperwork and to also arrange collection (hopefully tomorrow).

Other than checking for obvious damage what else should I be looking for? I am now wondering if the guy isn't being 100% honest.

Is it too cheap? Should I be concerned and walk away?

Thanks, T.

Me thinks you should have asked these questions before bidding ?

But yes there is some non standard cosmetic stuff that i would ask questions about (see pic) re belly and sides.

It should have a rear seat and a rear seat cover also and 2 keys. Make sure when the ignition is off the immobilisor light is flashing. if it's not it might indicate a bypassed system which would raise more questions.

also look for frame marks near the gear and rear brake lever which often bend into the frame if a bikes dropped.

also look at his Ebay feedback.

many of his bikes are repaired salvage which explains a lot. You should really do your homework chap

The only way you will know is to go and look which is what you should have done before bidding on the bike.

edit: :) got there before me Spoonz - looks like the decals were removed, generally popular with the US guys
