Ear ear!

I have only 2 things on my bike or not on the bike that I dont like and would like to change once I have sorted my brakes out.

Firstly is the side panels under the seat. Im sure i've asked the question before but can't seem to find it, is the vented ones on the 01 mille, how easy to fit to the 99. if its just drilling some holes then cool, but if its cutting stuff then I guess I will leave it.

Secondly is I hate the front. its too boring. on the 01 its has the ear things which I think make the front a lot nicer. I know the headlight is different so the cost of changing the from cowl and headlight not an option but I was wondering if I would be able to attach the ears to the 99 front. Looks like its bolted to the cowl from some pics i've seen so drill a couple of holes and away!
Haven't looked into the cost of them yet but guess it should cheapish as its only plastic.

Anyone got a set that someone could do some measurements on them for me? Want to make a template up and see if it will fit before I find some to buy.

Thanks
Garv!

DOnt worry about the ear things, Just been on ebay and seem how much theses things are up for. not worth it. Maybe a future project.

thanks
Garv!

The Carbon Fibre ones are definately dear ears :D ol mate...$255.oo AUS for a pair here.
Personally, i'd never pay that for em, hence i do not have them on my 02, just the std. ones.

How much for the std plastic ones you could paint up?
Surely there would be a cheap set of those around the place.
Or you could talk to Boyler about a price on his
Carbon Fibre products he makes himself..its quality:thumbup

Take a look at RSVEcosse's bike on here. The good man has fitted the later model sidepanels to his. I'm sure if you pm him Garvey then he'd be happy to give you the low down on how to fit them :thumbup

And I think I have a set of them in the garage somewhere if it's the way you choose to go.

How muh would you be after for the side bits?

The cheapest PLastic ears I can find is £30 for 1 or carbon ones at £50. though more of a tenner. tight arse me :)

WIll continue to look once I finish sorting my brake out I guess.

HUmm sounds good, you got a pic of them?

Just checking out some other pics of peoples conversions

Thats great. will give him a call next week. hes got some plastic ones for 32 quid.
Anyone close to me who has some fitted I could offer up on my bike just make sure it looks ok before I buy?

Thanks
Garvey

Yeah I can say it looks tops with them, jsut wondered if it would look stupid on the 99 front as the headlight is a little different etc.
Waiting to see what kind of price Rawtech will do me on a set of plastic ones.

where did you get the front decals from? did you make them up your self or buy them? my fronts a little dull :) and your front looks great

Hi mate,

Have seen a few pre 2001 Milles around with Ears fitted, they look pretty cool, go for it.

Decals:

I originally bought them from Image Works but screwed them up fitting them, I then bought a couple of sheets of white gloss/matt black and gloss red 5-7 year vinyl and made my own.

The three sheets of vinyl cost me £11 delivered, the pre cut decals just for the front cost me £25 from Image Works.

I'd recommend the vinyl sheet route personally, it's not hard to fit once you know how.

top job on cutting it out. I have a roll of whit in the garage left over from doing my mates gsxr last year.
Year I think I will have a bash at that one I get hold of some ears :)

Thanks guys!

A few pictures, for me 98-200 looks more elegant, 01-03 looks more aggressive. Both look fine :)

Front and side newer, back older

04+ back end, for me the best posible combination :)
