Guys
Just a quickie
Does anyone know which size dzus fasteners I would need to replace the quick release screws on the fairing?

Thanks
Simon

Dunno mate cause I removed mine so the thieving scum in Kent can't remove my beloved fairings in under 5 seconds.

Been down that route before and the Police did feck all about it, lazy feckers wouldn't even pull the CCTV footage as it was deemed as too much trouble for them.

I bought some new stainless fittings for my bike recently. You need 17mm fasteners.

Check this out mate - been thinking about a set of these myself so if you get them, let me know how they are.

Just ordered a set of these, when I get them and fit them I'll let you know if they do the business or not :thumbup

Is there any difference if it's the old shape rsv or the new shape? Is it still the same size?

I dunno, I bought mine in black for my factory off ebay. They were advertised for the Ducati 998 I seem to remember, they are a bit fiddly at first, but when you get the hang of it they are easy to fit.

I Just measured the length of the "pin" bit on the original ones and the bloke who sold them to me then sent the correct ones.

Be careful though they come in 3 lengths.........

:thumbupThose ones off ebay are from the bloke I got mine from.

They work a treat, don't forget to use the plastic washer else the dzus will scratch the paintwork......and we don't want that now do we.

Use the one off the old fastner on the inside of the fairing and it stops the dzus fastener dropping out when you take off the fairing. (Like mine does as I didn't get the extra washers with mine.....doh)

If you look in my "Garage" there is a piccy of them fitted, Just take the old un out and pop the new one in its place.......they can be a bit fiddly, you may have to push the fairing together a bit to help line them up, but they fit much better than those crappy allen jobbies.

If you need a close up of a fastener, then I'll go and take a snap in the garage later on, when I get home from work.

Were these from the same ebay seller Ian? And if so, is the quality OK? Been stiffed before with crap anodising.

Error!

I thought the link you put up was the same trader, I was wrong however.

Looking at my feedback from ages ago I found the trader was infact "Desmo-Porsche"

Here is the link to his Dzus fasters for the Aprilia Factory. (Cost Me $28.00 + $8.00 Postage (£18.71 at the time))

Link

The Dzus he sent me were genuine, the clips have DZUS stamped on them, although the actual fasteners dont.

The quality was good I thought, after 2 years of cleaning they still appear black, however around the edge of the fastener there is a sort of shine developing, but unless you look from about 6 inches you would not notice.

I would recomend this supplier and would use him again simply because what he supplied was good first time round. I seem to remember I got them really quickly too, which is good since they were shipped from the US.

My Dzus are exactly the same measurements as those shown on the link.

Hope that helps.

PS.
If you want me to take a close up digi photo of the fastener as it is today when I get home, I will.

PPS.

Just found the website for the tech details of Dzus fastners HERE (Warning-Technical, but you can order custom fastners though)
The website is called southco, the DZUS (Panex) fastner designer is HERE

Viper do those rings bounce around with wind turbulence :dunno are they coated to stop them marking the paintwork :dunno

No buddy they just sit where they are under their own steam.

I thought they would mark the paint but they dont, there is no coating on them, but they dont flap about they are quite tight in the fastner and not at all loose.
