I was trying to figure out if there is a trick to getting the washers on the inside of my fairings off without breaking them so I can remove the DZus screws? I'm getting my fairings painted.
Mine as no washers either, I know some do though. just be careful pulling them over the lip. They will still work fine if you break any washers, just the screw will come out of fairing when you next undo them.
Just pull them off, I've done this a good dozen times per fastner as I used to swap between track and road fairings all the time but didn't have spare dzus fastners for the track fairings. None have split.
