dyno run

been over to taz this afternoon and got the bike on a free dyno.

max power 121.43 @ 9752rpm
max torque 70.3 @ 8279rpm

does this sound ok standard bike apart from the cans and map 2.

did anyone else go only saw a couple of rsv's
 
sounds about right for a std 07 mille.(3bhp in 5 years development-typical aprila!) My 02(46k mileage=tired motor) as std did 118 and 70 ft-lbs, with a few mods its now 126 and 75.5 ft-lbs torque.

You thinking about doing anything else to it for more power? My 06 was 127bhp at the back wheel with the cans and an EVO Air kit. Had 5000 miles on the clock. Only managed to get it up to 132bhp with a powercommander and custom map. If you could get an extra 7bhp from an airfilter and removing the airbox lid then it might be worth a look.

i have been looking at air boxes and have been told that the evo might be the best.

but money is getting a bit tight at the moment and want to get the handling sorted first.

Yeah that worked. Although not the highest power bike out there but the graph looks so smooth and a/f ratio looks spot on.

That italoparts.de product looks similar to my EVO thingy. A rubber seal around the bottom of the tank so you get rid of the air box lid and increase volume of the air box.

I have been looking for some Acro headers to match my cans and also some bellmouths?

Any ideas?

Also I think my A/F ratio could be better and not sure if its worth doing the flapper mod and does it make any difference. I am on Map 2 with cans and PCIII but not sure if the lamba (spelling?) sensors are still active? I have an O2 eliminator box that came with the PCIII but its not fitted. Where does it plug in at? Whats the best way forward to get most out of what I have?

Homer Ewe airkit and K&N filter
Full Smaltmoto system with ceramic coated headers
PC111 with custom map
Disabled flapper valve

Track bike

Homer Ewe airkit and K&N filter
Standard headers with standard cans i cored myself
PC111 with custom map
Disabled flapper valve
Gutted and smoothed air intake

there are plenty of other things done to them but these are things that affect the motor:biggrin

Mark, i don't think you will get much better, the A/F is not to bad, the torque does seem a bit low mind, but peak power is about what you would expect, the flapper valve.....when you buy the homer ewe kit they actually recommend you do this, the homer ewe kit works the same way as the evo kit, but i don't reckon the evo seals very well, the homer ewe gives a perfect seal, i think the lambda sensors should not be active and the o2 eliminator fitted, i did not fit my PC111 but had it done at FW's, Richard fitted the o2 eliminators on both my bikes and said when he sets the bike up the lambda sensors are not required.

I don't see you getting much better as the curve is nice and progressive, slightly low on torque, so maybe some gains to be had there, the standard headers are supposed to be pretty good, as you see they are still on my track bike and it produces good figures.

I would get it remapped if you fit the eliminator, the dip is at 5500 is normal and i have not seen any that don't have it.

I also would not gut the air intake for the road, see here for how to do it

as you can see from this i removed the flapper valve completely, all you need to do is block the pipe.
 
Looks like a good job on the air intake. Looks like a little too much modifying to do for the road bike like you say. Not very easy to put back to standard if you ever want to for selling on.

What i meant was that was all the modding done to the engines, i have done a load of other things like suspension and blingy type things on the road bike............

i have done a few things to it since those pics were taken...........fitted Gilles chain adjusters and paddock stand lifters, Lightech filler cap, i am also going to remove the lower bronze coloured aprilia decal and replace with a gloss black one, a list of mods to date are:-

i went sat to pick up my rsv :)

my dad put his ducati on, i was gone by midday tho, best i see was a zx10 at 168bhp
