Took the old **** too Dynobike in Malton this morning, weather was typically spring like and pissed down for 40 miles but was looking forward to having the fueling sorted after fitting the rene airbox.
The first thing that impressed me with Paul the owner was how passionate he was about tuning bikes and we chatted for 10 mins about what he could do for me, showed me around the Dyno and explained how it all worked.
After the first couple of warm up runs he pointed out how rich the bike was running and he started to do the custom map on the PC3, it was very intresting to have it all explained and not just sat there drinking coffee.
The only down side was that my chain has seen better days and this showed on the graph at the top end by causing some power spikes but it wasn't a numbers game for bhp we were after and he showed me that the fueling was now spot on.
The ride home was a right laugh :devious, totally changed the ride and she now pulls like a train all the way through the revs with no hesitation.:doug :wheelie

Roll on summer :thumbup

Always worth the extra for a custom map as all engines are a little different. Glad you just didnt go for the bhp a smooth bike all the way through the rev range is a more useable and better ride.

I imagine that despite not going for Bhp you still got the figure. Out of curiosity, how many bhp?

Before 116bhp
After 119bhp
The power spikes caused by chain slap were 124 bhp. New chain and a 44t rear sprocket next.
Just feels great at all speeds now :thumbup

Glad you're happy. The reason I was particularly curious is because I bought my Rsv mille 02 3 weeks ago and the guy gave the figures of the dyno (don't know how lunch ago was taken) showing 120bhp. As far as I know, the bike is de-restricted:dunno yoshi can and gearing changed as well. :thumbup

I'll try and post up the run sheets when i get them scanned and you can see how rich it was running. It wasn't the cheapest of days but the bike is now as good as it can be, well worth the money IMO :thumbup

Cheers fella :thumbup how much wonga did they cobble you for roughly :dunno:thumbup

If you were getting power spikes from chain slap I take it that was running through the gears. Usually get the spike after changing gear. Did you do a 3rd or 4th gear roll on run too?

Fitting and the custom map was 3 hours £80

I could see the chain slapping badly
This was through the gears up too max power and the graph reflected what i was seeing with the chain, 5% smoothing was used to make the graph less spikey.
Got a torque up to 74 from 72 and a new chain may get a couple more bhp :thumbup
My slightly worn rear tyre is now ready for the bin :pirate

Custom map.

Had a custom map done today only prob was the bloody tyre. Take a look!!! The guy's at P.D.M raceing are fantastic, really helpfull.:thumbup

Guessing that was the Gixer thou then? :thumbup

Yes mate. Now need another r/tyre. Had suspention set up for my weight and size as these people at P.D.M have two gsxr1000 in superbike's this year it would of been rude not to.:thumbup
