Dunlop Sportsmarts on track?

As the title suggests, has anybody used these on track?
I currently use 211 GP Racer Endurance on the rear but they're still only lasting 1.5 trackdays....

I've managed Rockingham (left handed) and Donington (right handed) and I still have a bit of life left, but if I were to do 2 right handed days they'd be completely killed.

I need something with a little more longevity and I would like to stick with Dunlop if possible...

Cheers,

jon

i have the sportmax qualifiers 2. they are 2 compund and i did 5 track days + some 1000km on them and they will do a track day i am sure. but it depends on the riding style and aggresivness so i am saving them quite a lot :)
anyway if you are no beginer a road tyre wont help you much while if you are beginer the road tyres are more predictable and you feel them when they are starting sliping/ the race tyres will just slip and often give you no chance to correct it.

just try the sportsmarts and you will see how they suit you

Sadly I don't think I'd get 5 trackdays out of anything! Least not on a GSXR1000...
Thanks for your feedback, though.

I've used Sportsmarts on track a few times (front 1/2 of Inters). Last year four times on a Multistrada 1200S, plus many touring miles in the Alps, & this year four times on my RSV1000R Factory......they are very good and do last very well..... but a GSXR 1000 might be more demanding of them ! However, that will be the problem with any tyre, I think the Sportsmart is the best with little compromise.

Cheers Rod, that's really useful.
The GSXR is probably only 150bhp, so maybe 25bhp up on the Aprilia (not that different).
Did you get four sessions out of them on the RSVR? And what tracks were they?

4 days at Mallory would be very impressive- that place eats tyres!

I did Donington last week, 6 sessions, & I've done one day & two evenings at Brands Indy, all on same set of tyres and there's still loads of life left in them. At the current wear rate I'll get at least another two track days out of them..... (my riding style is smooth & flowing, not aggressive !)

Think I need to take some tips from you, I'm very heavy on rear tyres and I don't know why?
Good news about the Sportsmarts, though.

Only bad news is that I've been told that mixing the Sportsmart and GP Racer won't work as their profile is very different.
This is bad news as I can get three or four days out of a front and I'm happy with that.

The problem I find with using road tires on the track is not how much rubber I use, its more that after they`v been taking to track riding temperatures, they never seem to work so well on the road afterwards. I think its down to the optimum operating temperature of the tires your using, obviously every tire is a compromise around whats its intended use is (no matter what they tell you). For instance, I bought a second hand set of dragon supercorsas of ebay for my RVF400 trackbike for like, 80quid. Did a day at donni and 3 or 4 days at cartagena (which was open pit, so literally all day riding) in the fast group, and still didnt need to change them! Yet I did and evening at brands on my 02 R1 on diablo supercorsa, but the road compound, and since they never felt quite as good. Like Rod I ride fairly smooth, and on the R1 on the last trip to south of france I got 4500 miles out of a set of road bsb diablo supercorsas until I got a puncture!
Jus my two cents :thumbup

I should mention tyre pressures : I use 30 front & 27 rear on track (some people run the rear even lower because of the NTEC technology) , 33 F - 36 R on road.
I do not use tyre warmers, but warm them up over the first two laps.....
I wouldn't mix the tyres.......
