got home monday bout half five. got changed and set off to meet wife and son at swimming baths. pulled out the drive, top of road (20 feet) turned right and went to turn left (30 feet) and front wheel slid away under braking! 50 feet from driveway. ARSE!!! scratched whole left hand side. no bobbins. smashed both left indicators, wind deflectors scrapped, rear seat cowel scratched, gear selector bent, all left panels deeply scored.
BUY CRASH BOBBINS!! if you aint got protection go and get em.
doin max 10-15 mph. hundreds of pounds damage. gonna try a plastic welder. only had bike a few weeks, 03 rsv, siver with red bottom. great run sunday though! good 150 miles of biking joy.

Feel for ya fella, horrible sight seeing ya pride and joy all scuffed up, at least it was a slow one so mimimal damage :thumbup:thumbup

cheers guys. had the usual 'bloody dangerous' from family. just what you need when your majorly pi**ed off. Irony was that i was going to take 'old faithful' '90 nx650 dominator (big trailie) cos it was a bit cold out but couldnt walk past my baby! after drop i limped mille back into garage and ended up taking dommie anyway!
priced new panels, good job i was sitting down! bloody hell. bit of glorified moulded plastic, mass produced.

This might be your lucky day. these are off my previous 03 mille, been down as well, not perfect, at low speed, dealer inflicted.
not sure if intrested or not, can pm.

sorry to hear about the off. One thing to think about is gett the old panels reapired a mate crashed his SRAD a while ago and was quoted like £700 for new panels from suzuki. Insted he took them to a paint/reapir shop came back looking like new for £300 odd might be worht looking into?

I drooped my bike doing a U turn the other day turning round on a cambered hill i put my right foot down, slipped on some gavil and over we both went :(

yikes, its horrible losing the front anyday, at least with a back end slide you have a chance.
Good luck
cheers

Mate i put mine down coming home from the sbk at the island last feb , had the bag strapped to the back seat with a hockey strap it bounced into the back wheel , caught in the rear hugger locked up sideways , held it for a bit then highsided me 11500 aus dollars later , i know your pain :down. Hope its a easy repair .

put panels in to a local shop. he was askin what my paint code is. its an '03 plate rsv in grey (looks more silver to me but grey apparently). and idea of my paint code? thanks guys.

Aprilia have'nt released the paint codes apparantly :dunno.so the bloke at the shop will have to match it up.sounds stupid dont it,but looking thru similar threads on other aprilia sites, this realy does seem to be true.

good luck

okay. cheers mate. been lookin for the 'RSV' sticker on the main panel at the bottom but cant find that either. any idea's? need a few others so if i have to buy the whole left side as a set thats cool.
