Drilling Carbon

I am thinking about getting some Carbon Firbre fairing infills but my current ones are drilled for my R&G crash protectors. Would it be ok to drill the Carbon firbre or does it tend to splinter at the edges?

if its quality CF then it shouldn't splinter (but if it sub grade and then heavily laquered then there a chance). But what I would do after drilling is just knock off the raw edge with a bit of sand paper.

I’ve not drilled carbon before but with Perspex i used to stick masking tape on then mark up the holes positions and drill through the tape which helped keep a neat edge.

I used a dremmel to cut the holes out on my 04 factory which has the carbon fitted as standard it worked well and then dressed hole up with a small grinder in the dremmel i would also recomend using a face mask and safety glasses when cuting carbon fibre.
