Hi muckers can anyone tell me if a 2009 tuono r would still have that piece of tat still fitted to the genorator wires, mines only done 4000 mls dont want the melt down to happen . Cheers

Should be ok, think it was earlier models that had the problem.
KB will no doubt confirm this, he is the brains on here.

As GF has said, KB will be along to advise. Mines an 09 plate and the connector looks fine, but still pulled it apart, cleaned and greased it up.

Mines an 08 and it's done 20k miles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nae probs.

Yes, definitely.
Pull it apart, slam some dielectric grease in there, put it back together, and check again in 12 months.

General rule of thumb is,......if it looks ok,....

.....leave the ****** alone!

Seriously tho,...a 2009 bike should have the updated alternator rotor fitted,so the connectors and reg/rec get an easier time.Mines a 2010 bike,(built 2009),...I checked the connector once,...smeared some grease in there,^^as above^^,...and not looked at it since.

Mine looked perfect at 7200 miles but its been well documented over the years that they can go bad so I spent twelve minutes of my life splicing three wires together to never think about it again.
