A'righty..I searched the forume and came up with nothing..

I have a 2000 RSVR and the thing is awesome! However, while braking while coming to a light when I downshift I find that when in second going into first.. no matter how hard i shift it goes automatically into neutral... I wouldn't mind it one bit, only it makes a grinding noise...

Question : Does this mean clutch?
Question : Is this normal.

Thanks in advance guys!:pirate

Not normal mate mines a 2000 model and doesn't do that. As suggested above try clutch fluid change :dunno

i would be happy in the fact i had found neutral....:biggrin

cos i bloody never can...:thumbup

lmao, was just thinking the sme carpe, yayyy someone found neutral, can we have directions?!?
as said above, either bleed or swap the clutch fluid dude, then take it from there.

When idling& sitting in neutral, does it go into first without any adverse reaction?

yes sir. no problems what so ever in going into any of the other gears.. just when downshifting into first coming to a light.. ill swap out the fluids tomorrow as i have nothing else to do.. which fluid would you guys recommend?

Thanks again for all the advice!

Well ususally the two fluids are used are Dot4 or Dot 5.1 It is a personal preference as they both have slightly different operational qualities. Never use Dot 5.0 Silicone..this will do nothing but damage your braking & clutch components if used.

Dot 4 is compatible with 5.1...but whichever you choose, i personally would pump thru and flush the whole system with fresh fluid not just top up and bleed. I use 5.1 but Dot4 is more than sufficient for normal conditions. Cheers mate

Wow guys.. thanks!

Do they sell this stuff at any auto parts store or do I need to go through an aprilia dealer?

Cheers
