does or has anyone tried this method for downm shifting instead of bliping the throttle?

If the clutch on the mille only works on closed throttle then tis seems like a good idea to me!

It also frees up your right hand to concentrate on braking and would be usefull to learn if you plan on backing it in.:devious

Any thoughts?

this ones interesting. well to me!

Is he just dipping the clutch without throttling off? Yeah, I'll come and practice on your bike mate!

no he's off throttle and slipping clutch like a slipper would do till revs match.
i'd never heard of the guy but think hes an ama superbike champion. got the link off the california superbike school forum.

I find it better when dropping 2 or 3 gears at once to feather the clutch out, makes me bike smoother, old fashioned slipper clutch.

I downshift like the man in the vid, off throttle clutch out after every downshift.
Hardly use rear brake, prefer to let the clutch out and let engine brake the rear into corner.

That's what I do anyway (no slipper cultches when I learned to ride!)

Yes no slipper cultches back in the good old day on a triumph bonneville good old 1963:devious
