Just done the most expensive 600mls of my life (and I once owned a Mazda RX8 so I know what expensive means). Had a quote for the first (625ml) service of around £350. Is this for real or is my medication not working?:dunno

Mine was around £240 including swapping to map2.
Its quite a big job as the valve clearances need checking.2nd service should be a bit cheaper.

That looks a good deal Keith. Where did you get it done? I asked about map2 but said unless I'm getting after-market cans wouldn't do. This Tuono thing is a bit complicated to us novices.

Try Premier at Askern, not up to Griff's standard, but reasonable.

Price does vary, depends upon weather they do a valve clearance check - not strictly necessary on newer bikes, but some debate etc.

It should run ok/ better on map2 even with standard cans ?

According to EU law, you don't invalidate the warranty if you take it elsewhere for servicing.I would go to Griff personaly but that's because he is relatvely close.
(and his reputation is second to none) Valve clearances on a new engine? not heard of that one before, we have an Alfa so we know about spending on stupid things that should work but are Italian, so have the odd day off without any worry. Good luck with it. Oh and for what it's worth don't tell the wife.

Thanks evryone, I've booked with Premier, Askern (Nr Doncaster) to do the service and map2. About the nearest to Sheffield, a much better estimate and I liked the fact that the mechanic rang me back to discuss the benefits or otherwise of map2 with standard cans (at the moment). I'll post how I get on.
