I dont know, but I've been told the RSV engine is from the Suzuki TL-R. How true is this ? :dunno

TLR engine couldn't physically fit as it's a 90 degree twin and rotax is a 60 degree.

There ain't room for a 90 in there.

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You're getting confused with the Cagiva Raptor mate. RSV motor is a bespoke Rotax creation.
(We'll forgive you as you're new)
(You're not one of those Kent blokes winding us up again are you?)

tell you what dude, the bloke who told you that hasnt got a clue!
For christ sake dont let him/her work on your bike!!

OK, I see where the confusion is .............
It's the SV 1000 he's asking about, NOT the RSV 1000

And so, to answer his question....... YES it does ( with over 300 modifications)

Just picked the wrong forum to ask mate, try http://www.sv-portal.com/index.php? for Sv's

Sorted :thumbup

Tell them KILO sent you :devious

How d'yer work that out?:dunno

It's blinding simple really.............. He's just got confused between

a) Suzuki Sv1000

b) Aprilia Rsv1000

See easily done, two V twin 1000's ( or one V & one L in you really want to be pendantic)

Naw lads yer all wrong the RSV shares it engine with a CG125, wheels from a Citroen Saxo (the 16valve ones), and the brakes are straight off a Masey Ferguson 1340.
Sorry need to go now my nurse is ready with my medication:nana

The TL could have given everybody one hell of a fright if Suzuki hadnt made it weigh the same as a tank and fitted it with that god awful rotary damper (glorified oil pump), stuck a Suzuki badge on it and made it in Japan..................................

""Naw lads yer all wrong the RSV shares it engine with a CG125""

I use a CG125 for work every day (36mile round trip) and it is actually far more punchy than you'd think. Sometimes on a really dry day downhill with a tailwind i can get 45mph outa the ******!:doug:laugh

Someone told me a CAT D5 Dozer engine is the same as an MBX 80. But different engine mounts are used...............:devious

someone once told me that the pistons on an RSV where recycled olive tins, hence there slipperyness up and down the bore :devious
