Does anyone have a rear break that works?

I heard that my Tuono would have weak rear, but this is hysterically funny.
I cant even stop myself rolling back on a hill?

Using all my weight on it, using my heel and she still moves?

The solution?

Mine works ok.
It can if pushed hard lock the wheel .
I haven`t done anything to it .
Is it not being compared to the front brake ?

The solution is to fit rear-sets and move the master cylinder and reservoir up and back to mount onto the top of the
Rearset mounting bracket and then follow a very specific bleeding routine - then you can have a working rear brake !

If you look in the common modifications section, it's all covered there in a post from batfastard about fitting Aprilia Performance rearsets

Hmm! Then I got some pressure issues, dodgy seals or something?

Cheers, thanks!

Mine works fine and its standard. Bought it second hand just before the summer but had no such problems which others seem to have. Perhaps I'm just lucky though. In fact I've stopped myself with mine without using the front brake just to test it on occasions. Primarily I'm a front brake man though and hardly use the rear brake unless I need to slow down mid corner so as to not upset bike geometry. Its as good as the one I had on my GSXR and BMW though

Same here. I don't know if the previous owner had any problems with it, but I've had her for almost a year now and the rear brake hasn't missed a beat ( yet ).

Mine works fine... (havnt owned since new), changed fluid at last service....... and it still works fine!

:)

Oh great so I seem to be the only one so far!

Off to the garage me thinks?

Hahahaha. Aprilia rear brakes are often ***** on this model, more often that not they fade to fook all after a few hundred miles even when bled properly. Only Definite solution is the relocate the master cylinder vertically - which means fitting rearsets.

Mine was crap, is now spot on.

you and about 20,000 others...

if your's is like most affected, the bleed will only be a temporary fix....

try hanging a heavy weight on the brake pedal (seriously!) overnight...it will be good for about 200-300 miles...try it.....it's a free fix

Wen you bleed it up try, five terns of PTFE plumbers tape ,arownd the thred on the bleed nipple , as the threds are baggy as eney thing and will alow air to suck air back in wich ever way you try to bleed it , I yous a mittyvack vackume bleeder to do my bikes with ,werks grate ,but shows up how much air gets sucked back arownd the thred of the bleed nipple iff ptfe tape is not aplide rownd the thred and this cures it , bled mine up 5,000 miles ago and it hasent lost its presher yet, and werks .

Bleed the sucker properly, follow kzmille how to bleed on the aF1 forum and it should last for a few thousand miles before weakening off again.

lots of theories on this as to why, most probable is probably where the master is situated, near a heat source, causing the spongy soft pedal

my bike from new had a good brake and it took about 5-6k miles before it went soft,

Apparent permanent solution is relocate the cylinder with aftermarket rearsets, thats what i am doing.

dont know if ALL rear brakes are affected but some are better than others..

mine was ****, it would try to roll back if i tried to use it on hill starts, i reverse bled it, its been a lot better since.. hope that helps.. gen 1 04 model

Brakes prob fine on it though Rich but its the weight on the bike it struggles with ;)

I've got 3 that work and I'm having loads of fun with them jist now. Oops there not on my T.

Mine have been bled "properly" at least four times by a dealer. Good money paid. And the ******* THINGS STILL fade and were pretty much ******* GONE by the time that I parked mah poor wee lass for the winter. I'm getting pissed. Can ye tell?
