all right all.

went out for a quick blast today and the fuel light came on, nowt wrong with that!

however i was at some lights for ages so i killed the bike, on ignition and setting off i noticed the fuel light was not on any more and it stayed off. A 6-7 mile cruise later it was still off, then a dude in a bmw 330 d had a pop at me through our back roads,. i give it some beans, swiftly dealt with the dude and noticed that now i had been twisting the wrist with a bit more venom the fuel light finally came on again!!!!!!

IS THIS NORMAL and when do i have the reserve left, is it on the first fuel light or the second. how come it did not stay on even though i did a re start.

a confused too fook captain slow.:banghead

120 ish to the fuel light on a Gen1, no idea what the reserve is....
Have fun. There's a picture of my old Gen1 on here somewhere.

Its not two stage... it can come on "early" say if you brake hard as the fuel would slosh to the front of the tank. You then turned of your ignition and when you turned it back on the level had settled. a few miles later it came on as the fuel level dropped.
Happened to me the other night...
Once the light comes on and has been on for a while the dash starts counting the number of miles done since it came on..... but you dont have a "reserve".
So..... fill up !
:)

Fuel light comes on very early in my view. I've done 35 miles on it, albeit gentle riding and only got 17 litres in.
