Hi all, further to my previous post re a v4 in KJM Superbike....may have talked myself into a good deal on a new APRC ABS but big issue is no dealers in North or Southern Ireland...im in Belfast.
The old dealer will service it ok but has not had a diagnostic update for their system since 2012 and could not perform any warranty diagnostic work.

I'm so tempted to pull the pin on this but cannot shake the thought of a new bike without dealer back-up. The dealer in England says he will work with the old dealer here but I am a bit "Tell you anything to get the sale!!"

Spoke to Aprilia UK they would like to get a dealer sorted but........." we will be in touch when we can help you sir "

Or should I stick with my 08 Factory ??

Cheers Greg

Pull the pin!!!! I'm approx. 12hrs by ferry and a 2.5hr drive from a dealer but I thought what the hell, i'll cross that bridge when I come to it, mine was second hand mind you so only had a limited warranty when I bought it.

How much are they punting them for ?

On your bike are asking £9,995.... There was one for £9,500 a couple of weeks ago...

Wow...12hrs by ferry etc ...what did you get and how do you get on with it?
I bought a 2011 V4R APRC, it's FANTASTIC, best bike I've ever had, looked at a lot of bikes before I went for an Aprilia, wasn't sold on the looks of the V4R, needed something with a bit of soul to it, well it didn't disappoint, love the look of it now as it's a bit different to most other bikes and any friends who have tried it love it too. :biggrin I'm well happy :biggrin By the way, I'd never seen a V4R in the flesh let alone slung a leg over one before I bought it, total blind buy!!!

Just go for it ..
Best way i can descibe it is .... the Gen II used to make me grin , the V4 makes me laugh my friggin *** off !!

I wouldn't touch this without a dealer you can easily get to. That's not necessarily a sleight against Aprilia (though I've had an awful time with mine) it would be my same approach to any marque.

What has gone wrong with yours, bike or dealer error

New 2014 Tuono. I had silly issues with Aprilia, delivery with scuffed up clutch cover and front fairing/cowl that wasn't fitted correctly at the factory. Should have been a simple warranty repair but was convoluted and long winded. Took months to sort out with Aprilia supplying damaged and incorrect parts. Then the dealer fitted them incorrectly with more delays getting more parts from Aprilia. The official Aprilia tail tidy doesn't fit UK plates. That was fun too. I was left to sort things out with Aprilia directly and dealing with Aprilia is grim; poor customer service and after-care.

The dealer hated working with Piaggio UK. So much so that they walked away and no longer supply their bikes.

Love the bike though.

I've dealt with teasdales for a couple of years now and they are a great dealer. Bent over backwards to help me out, as regards the warranty, any vat registered dealer who carrys out the services to mfr spec will keep the warranty right, what really goes wrong with them? Few niggles here and there but the majority of bikes are fine. Mine certainly has been. worst way a massive problem just chuck the bike in hire van and ferry across them to a dealer in glasgow. Sure it's a **** on but its a hell of a bike! How likely is that to happen? Do it! I'm only 26 mile from thirsk am happy to pop in and check the bike out for Ya in the morning of needed.

Cheers for the offer Mwcbr ..
I don't have any issue with what Teasdale says re the bike, in fact he has been very helpful.Happy for me to get the bike serviced over here as long as I buy the oil and filter off him so he knows what has been used.
my main worry is if an error came up ie abs fault or something the ex aprilia dealer here says he hasn't got the up to date software to diagnose the error and for the service it should really get plugged in for updates etc.
I have spoken to the old dealer here and aprilia UK and they are in negotiations with each other re the old dealer becoming a service center but neither will give me any sort of hint either way.
killing me that I'm in the lucky position of being able to get a new bike at a good price for the first time ever but the dealer network over here is *****.
