So is there a quick guide to the different models or are they all basically the same
No offence meant if some are better than others :thumbup

Depends on which generation?

Gen 1 you have standard or racing.

Gen 2 standard (R) or factory.

Gen 3 (newest) you have V4 with or without APRC.

Someone plz correct if wrong?

It really depends on the budget you have, there are a lot on fleabay, check them out to give you a better idea
of what you want. mines a gen 1 R model. Bear in mind though, they all have the maniacal grin factor.

The racings/factory's have the bling. Ohlins shocks front & rear and carbon bits and bobs.

I just looked up on AF1 Forums, 200 made in 2003. Tuono Factory Racing # 94 was for sale. And no Im not wanting to argue the point. If Im wrong I'll admit it but I was astounded also. Id never heard of one till the other day when I saw it. Like I said, rare. Maybe someone who has / had one will chime in?

Factories came out in 2004/5 as far as I'm aware. Slightly lower spec than the Racing, but only because it didn't come with the racing kit. Different colours than the Racing as well. Factories have white decals markings and blue wheels, instead of yellow and white.

Of course the Falco Streetfighter was the first Aprilia Tuono in all but name. They made kits for the Falco to test the water, then made a limited run of 200 brown/gold Tuono R's derived from the Mille in 02/03 and then the Fighters in 03 . And then the Racing and Factories slightly later.
Think I'm right.

This is one

We had a list of the births of the different Tuono's on the old site.

There is a quick test of the V4T v. V2T and also a brief model guide.

Gen 1. Racing & Factory have Ohlins all around, shock/forks/steering damper,
Gen 1 & 2. 'R' models have Sachs shock, Showa forks, & Sachs steering damper.
Gen 2. Factory have Ohlins shock & forks, Sachs steering damper.

Agreed, with white wheels I reckon it would be better looking than the Racing.

Sorry all I was only talking about GenII for the 2007 Factory Release, ova here we only have the APRC model for the new V4 Tuono. I have a 2007 R but with the Upgraded brakes and Forged wheels off the factory, so does my mate who's bike is 2 VIN numbers apart off the factory floor.
