Hi all newbie to the site, looking for some advice. Have an RSV 2000 which is near enough impossible to select nuetral cold or hot. I have changed the oil and filter with no improvement. Please can somebody advise the best way to bleed and fluid to use.

Cheers

Try to loosen the bleed bolt on the m/c then very slowly squeeze the lever until no air comes out then tighten the bolt before releasing the lever then should be job done. Protect all area's from fluid that comes out .

Welcome aboard :thumbup

Do you know if your oil jet has been changed for the later spec one? The best way to bleed is a small tube and a syringe and fill from the slave cylinder banjo. Just be sure to keep an eye on the level in the reservoir, or alternatively keep the top off and wrap a rag around to stop any over spill from getting onto the paint work.

The bikes are quite sensitive to chain adjustment as well in respect of selecting neutral. If you are having problems hot or cold, it could well be that the clutch is dragging. When was the system last bled through?

Good luck :thumbup

Cheers Gents, have had the bike about 8 months after selling the GSXR-1000, as far as Iam aware its not been fully service for some time. I know the oil was replaced about 12 months ago. I have ordered a 40 jet from a local dealer in Aylesbury, after reading this site. I must say there looks like an awful amount of knowledge on here. I shall bleed first with some Dot 4, so will try this first. I have all the covers , tank, air filter and throttle bodies off to clean and replace parts. Can anybody give an idea on replacing the 40 jet. Again cheers for all your help.

jet is dead easy mate just dont over tighten the new one and get a small screw driver that fits the jet slot well . to get old one out just unscrew it and push a wooden cocktail stick in the jet hole which you wont be able to see due to oil in the hole and then put new one in simple ..

a small amount of oil will come out but not alot so dont worry ;-)

Hi Can anybody provide a diagram or picture of the jet to be removed. The jet I should have in a couple of days. Also does anybody know if the clutch slave cyliner seal be replaced seperately and the best place to get one. I have just changed the fluid bleeding the normal way, nuetral is not good, but the fluid was black as black. I wonder if the seal is starting to perish. From what I can see there's only three bolts to remove and remove piston. Can anybody confirm. Thanks all.
