I'm getting to the end of my tether trying to find a fault. I have fault code P14 showing up on my 2004 RSV1000R. The manual states that faults begining with P aren't listed.

Does anybody know what the P codes are? :dunno

All elese failed I'm going to have to put her in the Aprilia dealer for a number of days until they can trace the fault....

P codes are ghost codes generated by a poor connection usually on a sensor or module on the can bus.

The P means it not recognised by the ecu fault list.

Thanks Spoonz :thumbup - I'll check all the sensors. When you say module, where would I find them?

By module i mean dash. immobilisor etc.

The ecu will check for missing or incorrect voltage readings from most things on the can but a dodgy connection etc can throw up spurious codes it doesn't recognise.

Around the left inner fairing can be a good place to start as the connectors tend to get wet and corrode there. Especially the white one above the immobilisor ecu.

check the connectors in the tail unit and 30 amp fuses near batt for decent connection too.

You are a good man Spoonz thanks for the advice. I'll start checking that area.

I have a problem with my dashboard.

Guys,

my error light is blinking and I cannot start my bike.

is it my dash board that is the problem? can I swap to the translogic microdash 2?
