first mod is usually the airbox ,kn filter evoluzione airbox,or renegade or hooked, with the early collector, std exhaust pipe big clue, has it a power commander fitted, when you mean derestricted is it still std form,an aftermarket can make them sound better without airbox and other above mods slight gain .

cheers murf.

cheers murf the bike has a 2-1 arrow exhaust sytem but dont know about anything else

you need to check if the wire has been cut on the ecu .at the front under the riders seat.this brings map2 into play which you need with a race can...if not snip it and insulate both ends...under the airfilter is a restrictor...tank up,top off the airbox and lift the filter out under then you should see if there is a removable plug (?) under it..if so pull it out.....all this should be in the how to section or google or search the threads

after that its airbox conversion, gearing changes..pc3 and possibly bigger throttle bodies:thumbup...theres always something to spend your money on

thanks again will ave a look at that ecu wire and airbox at the weekend how do i know which wire to snip???

Hi, New member here. This all sounds very exciting to me as im all for more power. Just picked my bike up on saturday (2002 RSV'R)and very very pleased. It has a can that looks good quality but has no name apart from the akrapovic rubbers on the springs, but still not sure. The bike smells quite rich when running, and im convinsed it has a performance air filter in there. Im going to pop the tank up at lunch and check for this bung while im at it.

PS which wire is it that needs cutting.:puke

mm interesting my 2000 looses all power about 8500 maybe mine is restricted also and i have a remus can..

If you read the bottom of the page link that you mentioned it states that the wire should not be cut on a 2002 mille.

Best to snip that wire anyhow just in case your Mille is one that has had two lots of settings written on to the EPROM. :thumbup

will that wire snip thing work for the 2000 model also as gona see if mine has been cut ??

anyone got a picture of the airfilter restrictor in place so i can see if mine has one of those also ??

little dissapointed !!! wire has been cut although seems to be a different one to the one in the picture and the air restrictor plate has gone also!!!

was hoping to find some more power lol

The derestiction link is for USA models, so ignore the bit about do not cut the wire on 2002 models. UK and Eu bikes have 2 maps on the Chip. This is for older shape 2003 and earlier bikes

I can see that i was supposed to remove the hex screws to get to the restrictor screw instead of ripping it off and snapping the tab,...Doh LOL

Silly Question, why were models restricted in the first place? Was this just for Euro models?
