Hello again,

So having finally got my Millono to charger its battery I took her out today only to discover a nice steady flow of fuel dripping from under the seat.

Thought it might be the overflow has become loose but low and behold, its the fuel pump gasket!

Can anyone confirm the part number for a 2002 as the fische on apriliagenuineparts doesn't make it clear. It lists a gasket and an O ring, will I require both of these?

And also, is it essential to use Loctite 518 or does it not matter?

Cheers

Steve

so from that I'll take it that its plastic :pirate, Okay the big problem is that the ethanol in our petrol causes these plastic tanks to distort and stretch. the other thing is that it maybe the internal breather and or overflo pipe have fractured at the base .

So what ever happens its off with the tank, out with the pump and check the internal pipes first then check the pump mounting base for flatness.

My gasket went at the base of the tank, i cleaned it all up and used ACS silicone to make a new gasket.

If you buy a gasket making silicone its just ACS silicone with a different label/tube and a price hike. I know this as I used to be a buyer for an own brand industrial sealant company. We used to sell 'gasket maker' to wurth, halfords, quick motor supplies, autogem etc

Common prob im afraid, happened to me too, sounds like the gasket has perished.
No probs with high ethanol content here, cos we dont have it thnk fk

5-10% Ethanol in UK Petrol (Shell V-Power may have less than that, but cannot be confirmed)

I've got some Loctite 5922 that is supposed to be fuel resistant so Ill give that a go.

Tanks off and drained. (Typical how it happens after you fill the thing to the brim!)

Ill have a go at bodging it back together this aft and order a new gasket just to be sure.

Cheers.

Sorted.

Everything looked ok. Some of the old sealing paste had come awsy. Cleaned it all up and blathered it in 5922 an put it back togethrr. Fuel pissing out of the quick release connector so new o ring on that and all appears to be well...

For how long is anyones guess!!!
