so ive paid for a pro to setup my sus, id like to share them,
im around 85-87 kilos without gear, maybe 91-2 with gear,

Tuono v4,
preload 7 turns out
comp 10 clicks out
rebound 6 clicks out
2cm through clamps

rear shock
1.3cm thread showing
1 turn out comp
9 clicks out rebound

make sure you note your settings incase you dont like these

cheers

if you are around 85-87 kilos then I would hazard a guess at 97 - 100 kilos with gear on
always remember prior to fiddling with suspension settings to get the static and rider sag set first and check wheel alignment even if the bikes new

my halo suite is kangaroo only 3kg, my lid is 1270grams, boots 1.2 kilo, gloves 370 grams,

and good advise there brooksy!! never trust the swingarm marks, measure from axle to pivot point!

Took me a while to get the suspension perfect ... the 2013 Tuono suspension is too firm the rear was the worst.. with gear on i am 185ibs street/canyon set up ..much better..maybe minor adjustment on the rear comp

all settings are from fully turned in
Front static sag 35mm
Preload 7
Comp 12
Reb 17

Rear static sag 20mm
Comp 3
Reb 22

does it make a difference tho now it set

feels planted, i was getting some rolling before and some times the front would feel vague, if the road is really bumpy sometimes it felt as if the front wouldnt steer, and sometimes it pulled wide,
now the rear doesnt kick out under hard accleration, i had slight cupping on the rear which has now cleaned its self, i did get nearly 2k out of my rs10 with my old settings,

the front steers and feel nuetral when tipping in and doesnt pull wide if im trail braking,

only if you like chopppers! im only little lol, thats how the sag is achieved
Raising the forks through the clamps will have no effect on static or loaded sag, the way to adjust sag is by changing the fork spring tension (pre-load)
How to set suspension sag | MCN
by lowering the clamps the bike will now be lower (at the front) and the steering geometry will have been changed unless the rear has been adjusted to suit
I agree with Felix that 2cm (20mm) sounds a tad excessive and Felix knows all about being small

im sure dave knows what he is doing! otherwise we all would have jobs setting suspensions

Very similar settings to what I use now,

2014 V4

Front Spring preload 7 turns out from full stiff
Rebound damping 6 clicks out from full stiff
Compression damping 7 clicks out from full stiff
Fork ride height 2 lines showing above triple clamp

Rear Spring preload 10mm thread showing
Rebound damping 10 clicks out fron full stiff.
Compression damping 1.5 turns out from full stiff

This set up is excellent for me , static sag reading of 28mm Front and 16mm Rear, 90kg rider

Be as well adding mine into the mix:

2012 Tuono V4 APRC
Set up for fast road riding

Rider weight 89kg nekked

Front
SAG 40 mm
Ride height 2 lines showing
Rebound 12 clicks from fully in
Compression from 9 clicks from fully in

Rear
SAG 39 mm
Rebound 19 clicks from fully in
Compression 2 full turns from fully in

I don't like my suspension to be rock hard for road riding, but I still like to get a wriggle on every now and then :thumbup

These settings give me the best of both worlds. They are compliant enough so that I don't lose my teeth on some of our less smooth roads, but hard enough to enable superb traction through triple digit bends. ( talking about Knockhill obviously ) :banana

How much did it cost you 4vr? The suspension is one of by bug bears with the Tuono, if I could sort it I wont be tempted to change it.

I had mine done recently by Dave when he was here in Los Angeles..
He charges $50
Well worth it!

Even better!
He also did a seminar when I went on riding, gear and setting up a bike... all well worth the $50.!

just make sure you note your current settings like someone mentioned earlier in the thread, just in case you need to go back to them..
