That's the best thing that can be done with bike alarms, take the bloody thing off.
They are nothing but trouble.
I took mine off and low and behold all the battery/charging issues I had all vanished :D

Thanks for your input guys. I''ll check with my local garage whether they can remove the bloody thing.

If your going to remove it, It's fairly easy to do if you have a schematic to follow sergi. If your not not ok with electrics tho' get someone who is :thumbup

If you do remove it yourself be very careful of the wiring that goes near the throttle sensor.
Or an easier option pay someone to do it, then if they **** it up they have to fix it

I do all my services and repairs at southerncross. I'll ask them to remove the evil thing in the next service. I just want to make sure I will not have problems with my insurance before doing it. Thanks for your input again :thumbup

I wouldn't tell your insurance company, as long as you have the original certificate of installation that's all they are really concerned about.
If something does happen to the bike say oh blimey they stole the alarm off the bike!!

I hooked the bike to an optimate3 and the V has gone up like a rocket. Now reads 13.7V running with the lights on and 14V off and 12.5V with the engine off. Even when I changed the battery (only 1 month ago), I've never seen any higher of 13.4 in a good day, normally 13.3. I went for a ride today and the bike managed to keep the voltage so I will try to hook it to the optimate 2 days a week and see whether it's enough. I use the bike everyday so I will have to monitor the V and hook it when necessary. If this fails, bye bye Datatool!

If anyone is ripping their ssystem 3 of I would be interested, the circuit board is gone faulty on mine & they are £147 !,I would need the pin code with it,unless they reset to factory settings when they have been disconnected for a long time
