Dashboard problem - any ideas?

Any ideas? Have a 2005 RSVR with a dash problem. When riding (usually when very warm) redline light comes on at pretty much any revs. Worse the sidestand light comes on + redline light + 'error light' comes on + revs/speedo everything drops to zero as though igntion on but not started up.
Usually no other effect on running i.e. drives as normal just no dash info - very occassionally misses and even cuts out altogether.
Have then to wait several minutes (i think until engine has cooled to 90c ish)
Dealer picked up and 'sorted' an ecu connection fault - its going back in for another attempt (under warrenty) but its: a) a total pain and b) although dealer is sorting time and effort getting it back is stopping e earning
Long rambling post - but as you may have picked up i'm none too technical minded.

Sorry to hear the probs you are havving mate, am about as tech minded as you are on the bikes. so good luck 2nd attempt with the dealer :)

can you hear the fans coming on at about 95c?
if not is the engine getting tso hot that its melting some wires going into the dash?
i would take the front off and start her up, let her idel until hot and check for heat, wiring loom and connectors

The err on the dash indicates a CAN communication error. If they Axone it that will probably be confirmed.

It could be a loom issue where it meets the ecu or dash but more likely a voltage drop. When it's in the fault state can you get to the dash voltage ?

If it's low 9 -10v ish but the batt is not genuinly that low then check for corrosion or poor connection on the 2 30 amp fuses by the batt and around the white connectors above the imm ecu (left inner fairing)
