Dangermoose's speedo issue

First off all Hi guys

secondly I have recently run my battery down on my 51plate mille to the point where all the clocks reset themselves back to KMH and the Rev limiter went back to its factory setting of 6000. This is where the problem start as now my speedo will register speeds upto 100mph but as soon as you reach this speed( which is never lol) the speedo will rest itself back to zero and stop working.

ANY IDEAS???

Ps. If i stop and have a cigarette break the speedo will start working again weird I know!!!

Hi Guys forgive my post above ( newbie and all that) have now got it in a relevant section.

WHO AM I ????

obviously a newbie to this site but have had a 53 factory, Various TL's and SP1 and even an SV. which brings me back to my 2001 RSV I have now. Not been keeping up to date with mods seeing as I also ride myZX10r but have recently aquired the RSV and absolutely Love it I am in the process of refurbing so will post some pics when she is done.

Sounds like a dodgy speedo sensor perhaps. Take it off and give it a clean and check the gap to the bolts it measures from. Well known for going wrong.

Thanks young man will check tomorrow but have read another thread and have now ordered a new sensor but not an original as it seems these are frequently failing cheers Chris

Yes they are well known to fail. I made myself one for about £5 after mine broke. Pretty easy fix really.
