Cylinder hole question

After valve check and service had a few oil leaks, sorted valve cover gasket to find another leak most likely from the hole shown in the picture. Any ideas what this hole does and why it suddenly started to leak from there? Thank you

I know on some other vtwin engines there is a drain hole there for the sparkplug seat area, incase water gets past the plugcap seal. Stops it running into your cylinder.

Might be different on the rotax engine, not sure.

You might be right, same hole is on the rear cylinder head. My findings could be wrong then, I hope it's not the head gasket.
