cut the wire for more power? USA

I have an 03 RSVR that I've recently acquired. I've heard that the U.S. bikes have a wire that can be cut to boost HP considerably. Is this true and if so how do I know if mine has been cut or not...where is it located? Any details/info would be most appreciated!

I don't believe the US version of the RP58 Eprom has different maps in it.
The Euro version does and by cutting a wire on the small connector on the ECU, you select a second map with better fuel and ignition tables.

Get a Euro version or get a semi custom eprom and you will be fine.

The Us went to single map eeproms from 2002.

If the wire is still uncut you might also wanna check if the aurbox restrictor is still in place.
