I was very unhappy with both the stock Tuono seat and the Aprilia gel, "comfort" seat. Many of my rides greatly outlasted the comfort of both seats, so I had my stock seat pan reupholstered in leather by Bill Mayer Saddles (Bill Mayer Saddles - BMS Custom Motorcycle Seats by Rocky Mayer) in Ventura, CA.

It is very, very comfortable. It cost me $600 and I'm offering it at $185 + something fair for the shipping. It does raise the seat height a bit, so if your seat seems high enough already, this isn't for you. I liked the higher seat as it gave my knees more room without sacrificing ground clearance (I'm 6' with a 32" inseam).

Why and I selling it? The valves were very, very tight (stalling constantly) at just over 7,000 miles. The only local Aprilia dealership, which had been OK up until then, made me never want to deal with them again. The warranty was up this year and I found an incredible deal on a 2015 GSX-R750, so no more Tuono...

If you have any questions, just let me know. It's a great seat at a great price!

Nice saddle. Shame it won't fit on my Gen1.

Re. Valves tight & stalling!

Wow! Really! Gen 1's & 2's rarely ever need valve shims changed. Just had my Gen1 services at 23k miles and valve gaps were all spot on!

So hard to believe a 2014 bike with 7k miles needs valves regapped! But if they cause bike to stall they need resetting ASAP else valves will burn out! But, hey, you got rid of the problem! Hopefully the new owner is aware of the problem... :)

I think Rotax engines might be a bit more reliable than Aprilia engines...!

The shop had recently had a 2014 RSV4 with the same issue. The guy didn't get the valves adjusted in time and the top end was completely shot... The V4 was magic, but I don't have the money to deal with it out-of-warranty. (The bike was also in the shop for a full month!)

Does it add any height to the seat as I'm on tip toes as it is.
What are the shipping costs to UK?

YES the valve seats were very soft on a lot of early v4 heads , not uncommon at all

Dave,

It probably adds 1-1.5 inches to the height. If your on tip toes as it is, it might be too high.

Shipping is ridiculous: about $100 USD. I'd split it with you.
