Crashed RSV to Tuono racing conversion

V

V_senna

A few people wanted to see this, so thought i'd make the thread, sorry for the poor quality pictures, i'll try and nick someones camera for when its finished.

Was getting abit bored of sportsbikes, so decided to convert it into a tuono,
In other words I smashed up the bike, broke my arm and i'm streetfightering it :devious

A quick list of what needs to be purchased:
Top yoke
Handlebars
Radial Brembo brake and clutch M/C's
Tuono Brake and Clutch lines
New throttle assembly
Race seat unit
Side coil covers
Air intake covers
Tank
Carbon front fairing
Carbon race bellypan
New clocks
Front fairing bracket
New exhaust
Rearsets
Carbon Front fender

Luckily found a german ebayer who was breaking a tuono so got the main bits off him, these parts are like space monkey poo to source

Ah yes tracked down one of the rarest pieces of the puzzle, Full carbon fibre front fairing, who needs a headlight eh?

had the radial clutch and brake master cylinders turn up, together with some black levers, think they look quite nice personally.

I also had the new throttle turn up, suppose to be off a 2008 Tuono as mine had some damage, Thought the cables would be longer but it turns out there the same size as the RSV's, so just needed to be routed differently :S

New front fairing bracket bolted on, the loom around the front is a mess so will have a tidy up before the fairing goes on (hasn't arrived yet anyway)

Few pictures, its starting to take shape now.

New clocks fitted (replaced the internals though as I wanted to keep the mileage true)
Mk1 race seat unit fitted (not 100% sure i'm keeping this on, but will have to do for now, light as a feather!)
Red Hel hoses, still waiting on the bloody clutch line.

Also bought the tuono racing tank and a swingarm WITH NO DENTS! almost didn't believe it myself, does need a good polish though.

Clearance on the master cylinders was very close on the front fairing,
Starting to see why they never did a tuono with radial m/c's

Also put the side panels and air duct covers on, painted in gloss black.

think the red fender has to go, looks nice in the flesh but
doesn't seem to go with the rest of the bike in pictures.

Still have to mount the bellypan and a brake light, bellypan needs a hole cutting for the sidestand, once thats done its pretty much ready :D

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS!?!?!? :D

I have a question......

...............HOW MUCH HAVE YOU SPENT!!!!

That Racing belly pan can't have been cheap, plus the front fairing.

LOL I'm a poor boy now lets put it that way, to be honest i've been buying parts bit by bit, just so I don't feel it, honestly I have no idea how much i've spent on it, not willing to do the maths either.

Anyways quick little update, I mounted the bellypan just to see how it sits and where i'll need to cut the hole for the sidestand. its pretty much done now, got a few small bits n bobs to buy, carbon front fender, some decent rearsets, and a full set of R&G's, oh and some new rubber, will be doing another european trackday event at the start of next year, will put a daytime mot for occasional roaduse.

I've got an oe exhaust bracket you can have. It was bent out of shape when I got hit by a car but I managed to bend it 90% back to how it was.

I was going to bin it. :dunno

That looks nice mate there was one on a the track day on friday i done only a small track but was good fun thinking of getting track bike my self now yours looks top bike mate:thumbup

1st class effort, if I through mine down the road I will be hot on your heels.

Thats a right bang up JOB there :thumbup

Stick a fork in it, its done :D nearly.. Got it through an daytime mot, apparently all it needs is a numberplate and a horn!

Fitted an LED brakelight as I think its suicide without one, I may look into getting a spot light fitted at some point too!

No sidestand fitted yet but I wanted to ride it, so had to learn it up against something at every stop.

I was set out to get it looking similar to this, and the result:

Once the rear numberboards are have the yellow vinyl over them, and the carbon front fender fitted, it should look properly finished, :D
