Morning Groovers,

Wife has asked what Santa should bring me for Christmas & to be honest, I got my health, kids & a few toys already so there ain't much I actually need. Stuck for ideas whilst out for a quick blast yesterday I had a brain wave for the £100 budget mentioned earlier that morning, crash protectors!

Had a quick look on R&G's website & for the Tuono (2008 model) it appears they do two types, front engine mounted & lower/rear mounted. Question is do I need both (which at £80 odd a set means I would have to contribute towards them) or would one set suffice? If so, which ones?

I'm not a brand whore so if you can recommend an alternative feel free, however I have heard some horror stories about cheap copies simply snapping at the thread on impact causing more damage than possibly running without.

Cheers, Robbo :thumbup

hi robbo , ive got a full set of crash bungs . i got mine from " bs motorsports " a german co. that does sell stuff on e gay occasionaly.
all parts seem good quality, instructions for front upper crash bungs ( which to me seem to be the most important ones ) were in german only.

you will get more for your money buying from their web site too . worth a look .

Ey up Robbo,...I have R&G bungs on my T.The upper set protect the radiator and frame, while the lower set stops the footrests mashing into the lower frame. They are very well made and use the engine mountings for fixings. There is an excellent fitting guide by Rico on here somewhere.
I have top and bottom bungs, plus bungs on both axles. One of the guys on the 'other channel' had a 75mph get off and was able to ride home,...thats good enough for me.
The cheaper make bungs simply bolt onto a spare lug on the frame. The downside is if you get a hard drop on its side it can break the lugs out of the frame.I read about a bike that fell off its stand and the crash bung punched a hole in the frame.

Hello Robbo , have a set of no cut ones if you fancy them , give me a shout if your interested mate
