Crash bobbin help

Chris,

How you liking the v-twin engine, i found it odd at first with the engine braking etc....

you emptied a tank yet? what did you get out of it?

Only had mine for a month, so still trying to find a good suspension setup too

Fellas,

Any tip's / advice

Thanks

don't crash :) saves all the problems and associated costs :)

IMO crash protectors are only useful for 2 crashes,

1. 2mph in your driveway
2. Racetracks

Anything else on the road is likely to involve other vehicles/kurbs/lamposts etc and the crash protectors will save sod all.

Would it not do any good if the backend let go, on a cold tyre or over leaning on the road?

Cheers, Grin

Great minds ey

Need someone to comment on the Ape one's

If there any good or go for the hallowed R&G's

The Ape ones are *****. The welds give way and they actually do more damage than not having them.

R&G are good, as are Woodcraft.

The front frame upper ones are useful for stupid car park type topples, but the large ones that fit to the rear engine mount work best. (you need both)

I binned my Tuoldo at about 60 and got away with minor damage, most of the work being done by the rear R&G.

Weeksy is right in so far as a high speed off is more than they can cope with, but your bike will most likely flip at speed anyway and total itself.

I have them on my Tuoldo, on Liz's 07 and I have ordered a set for the new Factory.

I also fit R&G paddock bobbins to the rear swing arm.

Liz fell over sideways in Spain on wet cobbled street, mine toppled off its stand in the Alps. R&G's - no damage to either bike. Result.

Well

That kinda sort's me out :thumbup Cheers lads :thumbup

R&G's it is, is it worth fitting the front spinde and swingarm one's too, the bloody bike will look like a pair of roller boots
:lol:lol

Rear swing arm - yes or use the stand bobbin type.

Front spindle - waste of money - your handlebars will hold the bike off the floor far enough at the front unless it's a big one, in which case who cares?

I have R&G bar ends on the Tuoldo - debatable - as they cost about as much as an Ape bar end.

Ei lad, got the paddock metal bobbins on the rear, is that what you mean?

Mmm, just fitted some R@G's [at £160 I might add] not because I wanted to but because I was doing a track day and wanted to do what was pretty obvious to try and stop major damage to the bike. Ie frame, swinger etc. Everything else is pretty much mendable? . They help slides. Not crashes. Speaking as someone who dropped their bike at zero mph not on the stand side I can vouch for the fact that T's fall over pretty well. The bars and the cans save a lot.

Chris and Banned, fookin chiilllll , keep yer dough in yer pocket. Your gonna need it for the motion potion T's get through and judging by the way you 2 are going on your gonna be sneeking out in the middle of the night to thrash the blimmmin bikes. I love yer but I can't get out of the house for the fookin hounds. :thumbup

their is no cure for the T addicTion.

hahahahahahaha fookin mad head !!!
WTF is motion potion...dam u been hittin that whiskey too hard after the trafford center bud :lol

got everything but the rear ones becouase I didn't want to keep hitting my legs on them all the time

Woodcrafts. Crash tested at the track and saved me a WORLD of grief. Much cosmetic but the engine is sound. Will definitely get some more as they provide ace protection in a 120kph low side into the kitty litter.

my two cents

Well I've gone for the R&G Bar ends, R&G swingarm bobbins, R&G swingarm pivot mushrooms
just need the uppers now
