First being, how do you remove the fuel tank when it has fuel in it?
Second is valve cover gaskets. Noticed I have quite abit of oil on the outside of the engine and it looks like it's coming from the lowest points of both rocker covers. Could it just be new gaskets required or something more sinister? I might have abit of oil in with the spark plugs too, could that be related?
Bike seems to be running ok, been using it and nothing majorly serious seems to be wrong. Just wanna try and sort it out while I have the time and a bit of money to do it.

It's a 2001 motor.

my rocker gaskets broke down and started leaking i think its quite common and the way i remove my tank is have it lifted on its prop have a cable tie with you quickly undo it from the throttle body's make sure you don't lose the copper washers, pull it through the tbs and cable tie it to the top bolt holes were the tank bolts to the frame near the yolks as long as the end of the fuel pipe is higher than the level of fuel it should not come out and remember when you put it on the floor to have it angled the same or you could sit there for ages putting it in cans

Thanks for that Legs.
Stupid question, but i'm guessing the engine needs to be dropped to do them gaskets? Just incase i've missed something really obvious.

Why the heck couldn't they make taking the petrol tank off simpler?!
