Correct tyre pressure

Hi all,

just wondering what the correct tyre pressure should be for a 2001 mille on Dunlop d207's?? Ive noticed the rear is quite squishy at the mo so need to sort it.

Thanks

With the tyres that Aprilia recommend they state 2.0 bar rear and 2.1 bar front which equates to around 29psi rear and 31 front. Currently running both of mine around the 32 mark.

cheers fellas!!

ive got to get rid of these tyres at some point soon, i cant stand Dun-flops.

Get rid of 'em asap I'd say.. Dunlops aren't bad, the new Roadsmart is supposed to be allright for sport-touring purposes and the new Sportmax is supposed to be great, but like you I wouldn't have 'em on my bike again.. I had an old pair of Sportmax D022's on when I bought the bike, I can't believe anyone would put a touring tyre on an RSV?? :coocoo :dowhat
Now i've got some BT014's on, and they're great :)
Next pair will be 2ct's.

personally I hate the std pressures(36/42) and I run 33/36 on the road which suits me really well. I can always tell when thegarage has put normal pressure in cos the bike just wants to fall over, it feels horrible to me.
Track pressure will obviously be even lower. remeber sustained fast riding will push the pressure up a bit too.

Dave, they are too low, those are track pressures, i run 28.5 rear and 30.5 front on track, CK is right at 33 front and 36 rear for most makes.

oh, i just filled 29 rear and 31 front. The front was ok (29 ish) but the rear was on 10!! i noticed it when i left for work yesterday, for it to have gone down this much i must have picked up a puncture. Theres nowt obviously visible.

Ill see how it gets on - i almost hope i do have a puncture so i can get some Diablos without grief from the ball and chain lol.

check yer valve caps too mate, I would recommend the right angled Aierite caps/valves. Plastic caps can deform at speed and leak.plus the right angle makes it easier to fill lup
cheers CK

good tip, cheers CK. and no wonder it felt like the bike was squirming - must have been practically crabbing down the road pmsl

Feels fine at these pressures Badger. When I test rode it they were even lower although I didn't know at the time :eek:mg After it was delivered I checked them before I went out the first time and was amazed to see around 25 in the rear! I went to where I am now just to get a bit more contact patch and also to try and get a bit more heat in them in this cold weather.

If your tyre pressures are to low and you are riding in the rain the tread pattern closes up some, due to the tyre deforming due to low pressures, thus less water clearing properties, not good mate, yes you will get more heat in tyres that are deforming coz the tread is moving about more, my advice is 33/36 bud:thumbup
