Correct Battery Type?

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if I have the correct battery installed in my Tuono...

It is a YUASA YTX14-BS - I became suspicious because this is a AGM battery (at least if I´m not mistaken).

Is that the correct battery?

Michael

its an upgrade on the standard battery which is a bit on the weak side . Provided the replacement will physically fit and has a higher CCA ( cold cranking amps )
Go for it .

Thanks, that‘s good to know.
Is the Tuono‘s generator able to charge AGM batteries properly?

I had AGM batteries on my bikes for years standard alternator up to 2008 was a 500 w and then was later fitted with 350 w alternators , which was actually a better option ! So both are well able to charge the AGM type .
A modern charger such as optimate one is a recommended choice of charger for all battery types , keep your tuono on the charger when laid up as the battery consumption is high even when parked up for weeks at a time .I speak from experience . My shonky old blade and my BMW s1000r goes on the optimate once a month each , static consumption for both bikes is extremely low .

Beg to differ h, had my 08t for 7.5 years and for the first 4 years it was parked over winter with no chargers connected.
Always started 3 4 5 months later.

Aldo , that's amazing !! You're lucky .
I bought my '57 in Dec 2012 , within 2 weeks the battery was dead flat !! Me thinking the battery was duff I bought a new one .
Fitted that and that went flat !! I just assumed that it was the nature of the beast , not having had a bike full of electronic gubbins before .
My current BMW has been sat 4 months without needing a charge , so I guess mine had a bit of a leak down problem .

h, I've no idea why the battery kept its charge for so long.

I used to think it was because I did high mileage days whenever I was out on it.

Turned out that wasn't the case when I eventually changed it.

The replacement battery needed to be on a trickle charge nearly from the get go.
