Fans used to kick in at 90C approx and cut out at 88. Last Sunday after a rideout they stopped working and I had to pull over when the temp reached 102C. After waiting for a while I checked the fuses. pulled them all out and in again and the fans started working again but only temporarily. When the temp reaches 90c you can hear the relays and the fans move slightly but with not enough power. Things that I've checked so far are;
Check fuse box and change fuses although they all looked fine. Fuse box looks fine too
Connect each fan directly to a 12v battery and they work perfectly, full power.
Checked the relay and it is working fine. (I switched it with the low beam lights relay as it is the same and it works fine)
If it's going to be the temp switch I will take it to a garage as I don't feel confident to do that task but does the description of the problem sound like a loose connection or bad earthing to you?
Any suggestions welcome.
