Hi everyone im a newbie to the forum and to aprilias as well i just changed one of the radiators and refilled it with new coolant i filled it thru the fill cap side but after putting in about 3 liters the low & max on the overflow tank does not show any coolant but when i try to put some more in it just spills like if it were full already is there a certain way to do this plus i dont think that the coolant circulates when i turn on the bike, has anybody had tjis problem, could it be the circulating pump and if so is there a way to check it. thanks everyone for the help.

You are not thinking straight at the moment .The coolant wont move untill the engine gets warm and opens the thermostat. Run the bike up to temp and watch the guage and Temp . The fans will come on around 96c. Let the fans stop before switching off.

ok you are right the coolant wont move until the thermostat opens but yesterday i did leave it on and the temp went up to 118c befor i turnd off the engine the fans did come on but the coolant in the resivor tank did not move at all, if i open the main coolant cover i see coolant and if i open the fill cover i see coolant but not in the level marker on the side of the resivor tank like i said i just changed out the left side radiator and refilled with coolant should it be purged or something why cant i see the coolant in the side of the resivor is my main concern dont want to over heat the engine, thanks for the quick response and help.

This is cause the coolant "window" is the crappiest window on the planet ! and you cant see thru it without shining a torch down there .
its absolute garbage ...
i had exact same worry when i got my tee...and a trip to the dealers put it right , cos they showed me how to view the coolant level !!
The frosty viewin window is basically useless .

:thumbup:eek Ok can you tell me how the dealer fixed yours so i can do mine too, thanks for the help guy's i really apriciate it, thanks:cheers

Being a traditional man who uses untraditional methods, I'd be tempted to get the bugga up to temperature and slowly undo a jubillee clip and see if their is any air in there. Be carefull though, it'll be red hot if any water or air squirts out.

ok thanks for the sugestion ill try it and let you guys know hopfuly it works. :thumbup

can any body tell me where to add coolant?in the top cap,or the bottom cap on reservior tank with max-min marks.I lost my manual book.and I have exactly same problem.just add 2,2l of coolant in top cap and reservior tank with max mark still empty :-( so i put some in bottom tank and then was too much.I think I must drain all system again and start from begining. many thanks

"reservior tank with max mark still empty :-( so i put some in bottom tank and then was too much."

it wont be empty...u just cant see it , the viewing window is ****...

the coolant goes in the top cap (underneath the fairing) you need to take off the side fairing !
But go ahead and overfill like every other paranoid Tee owners do (me included) :lol :lol :lol

thanks
is the ir in system big dill?how to make sure there is not any?only with the bleeding screw on top R/H side of radiator?
thanks

ok i guess i just hap to find out on my own but everything posted here is correct if your a perfection freak like my self you do have to spend time with a torch from behind the resivor tank to see the coolant i used one called engine ice its blue so its harder to see in the useless window so i guess the best way too keep up is to unscrew the top rad. cap and make sure the coolant is moving when you turn on the engine so with that said yes i am a paranoid freak:eek:lol:thumbup:banghead
