daft question probably, do they use much coolant, think mine needs topped up, cant see the level between the markers when cold, though it is running cool enough to me, do I just use normal decent quality antifreeze in it?

Nah,they dont use coolant,...but they can lose it when the poxy hose clips fail.

The level is a ***** to see thru that poxy little slot on the cover.Take the cover off to check it properly,...its only a few screws.
If the coolant does want topping up,use a 50/50 mix of watter and antifreeze.Correct level is halfway between min and max.A line with a marker pen will make it easier next time.

I always find it easier to check the level looking from the front of the bike - don't the back of the cover.

If you give the bike a little shake you can see the level easily enough.

Always use the correct sort of anti-freeze - blue for blue bikes & pink for the rest.

Check specification before topping up.
