Coolant change time

Thought there was some sort of special one to use in the Mille? I understand that the best way to refil them is on the sidestand, is that correct?

As far as I know all you have to ensure is that the coolant you use is nitrite free and anti-corrosive.

Edit: Guys if you do use normal anti freeze make sure it's OK for aluminium engines, use the wrong one and it'll eat your engine in no time.

I used around a 60/40 mix, 60% anti freeze to 40% water for the R1 and that seemed about right so I suppose that it will be okay for the RSV too.

Is a myth that antifreeze is bad for alu engines, the old methanol antifreeze is what your on about and you cant buy it anymore. All antifreezes are also summer coolants and contain anti corrosive properties. blue , green & red are supposedly 1yr 3yr & 5 yr antifreezes

that petrol and piss though dan neither of which i recommend you put in your cooling system, although i have pissed in one of my cars radiators before when it over heated :eek:
also put orange juice in it and blackcurrant
any fluid better than no fluid :thumbup
 
I just use Mobil antifreeze 50/50 mixture and distilled water.

Change of atz is straight forward and pretty easy. Drain the rads and the pump from drain plug. Fill in new ...
