I was getting something from the garage last night and I noticed that the floor under my bike was wet, and a big patch at that. The bike itself is sopping wet with condensation, my other half's isn't so bad, but hers is unfaired so it probably doesn't have the flat expanse of plastic that the water can run off.

I've never seen this before, is it actually more common than I realise, and will some sort of indoor cover stop it happening again?

Secondly, assuming the worse and that it froze over the cold snap and cracked the block then there would be oil and all sorts on the floor and not just water? Not that I think that's happened mind, just being paranoid :)

common in this weather mate and nothing to worry about, also i assume you have anti freeze in the water, this will stop the water freezing in the bike

Cheers, I'll stop worrying then :) Will a cover prevent it do you think?
Yep, it's got antifreeze in it, it survived last winter anyway :) If it's nice at the weekend it might even get an airing, which will be a shock for it. Must remember to avoid potholes though, I trashed an alloy on the car yesterday, a little miffed about that.

my advice is don't cover as it will still condensate but not breathe meaning it stays wet longer, let the thing have air, open a door to vent the garage:thumbup

i had the same the other night ! went into the garage and every this was soaked , both bikes , hifi , sockets , patio heater , TV,dvd, playstation xbox,, sofa, lazyboy chair , hottub,, bar , all the optics , all the glasses , the bitter keg was ok thou thank god :devious

Took cover off mine as it was soaked underneath. (concrete garage). Was considering one of those plastic bags advertised which you suck all the air out to seal the bike.

A product of the warmer days I assume and the garage not getting warmed

I went into the garage and it was colder than outside so opened the doors to warm it up lol
