collector mid exhaust pipe fitting!!

anybody have any tips how to get the bloody thing in?....took me ten mins to get one out and now i can't get the fooker back in....been trying for 3 hours.
looks like i'll have to removed the cylinder head pipes i suppose but the bolts look a right ball ache to get to.:angry:angry:angry
think i need a guinness:devious
 
i just undid the front down pipe when i did mine , no bolts broke maybe i was lucky :thumbup
 
loosen the front pipe or remove it mate, its a bit of a wriggle but it will go..

yeah reckon i'll have to do that...did a couple of dyno runs in the week and the guy there fitted my modded collector pipe in about 20 mins while i enjoyed a cup of tea.....whats the best way of loosening the nuts?...with a swivel head ratchet?:dunno

yep ratchet should do it...just loosen the front pipe the rear can be left alone


why are taking it off ?????:dunno:dunno
 
i took it off as i was fitting my ohlins shock and wanted some more space to work in.....didn't realise it was going to be such a tw@t to get back on!!
 
The rear pipe is a barsteward to get back on you need about 3 hands and 12 knuckle joints for your ratchet! Haha.

The front is pretty easy once you have the plastic off that covers the horn.

no its fine mate.....just wished i hadn't bothered now.....especially seeing i have no knuckle sets for my ratchets.hate leaving the bike in pieces in the garage but hopefully i'll have some by the end of the night
think i'm going to give the engine a nice clean in the mean time:thumbup
