Give me a clue amigos... havin prob startin my 06 t from cold, turns over fine fires ok after 1-2 secs konks oot..... having to give little blip of throttle... :no:no i know this is not good, it starts fine when hot, 1st push of button, no throttle fine.... Just when cold.. I serviced it over winter, new plugs yes i measured the gap, changed oil and cleaned filter.. thats it... heard maybe need valve clearences checked???

Davy, TBH mate mines not dissimilar, although I don't blip the throttle just hold it at about 4K revs for a few seconds. It's only needed at the colder times of year, not in the summer.

I've discussed it with Griff before and he says it's normal.

Hope that helps

Davy, Exactly the same as mine, it just started after I had map changed to MAP 2 late last year. Maybe the fickle Italian cant handle the Scottish air ! I will live with mine, unless it gets worse, then see what dealer says at next service. Mind you if Griff says its normal he seems to be the man. But why normal now and not most of last year ?

Guys I AM A *** !!! While servicing in feb, I thought there was only 2 plugs!!! So changed 1 front - 1 rear, just found out there's 4 plugs!!!!! Feckin news to me.. Hopefully this will solve prob. Also getting Oberon slave cylinder fitted too.. Adios amigos.

well thats what i though Nob, local garage who i bought it from called me yesterday to tell me???? checked manual last night and it says only 2 plugs... gonna call him soon to see what the crack is!!

Gen1 has 2 plugs per cylinder
Gen2 has single plug per cylinder

They must have mixed up the two models.

Your starting issues sound fairly normal to me when it's cold or damp, or it's sat for a long time. I found mine is worse after changing to map2 and open cans. Stalling issues can be due to the need to rebalance the CO2 levels after exhaust changes.

If you're still in doubt give the Griffmeister a call

Dealers are sometimes errrrrrrrrrr,,,,,,,,,,,,, FUDS.
You bidding on Scabies dagger on ebay then ???

Just local garage, where I bought it from, bought couple of bikes from them, thought I'd give them the business... Will go to dealer in Dundee from now on. Dong fill you with confidence when THEY told me it had 4 plugs not 2. Like I told them!!! No happy bunny. Then I CALLED them today at 4.45 to be told can't find anything wrong and I can pick up bike Moro!!! When were they gonna tell me??? Btw it's sandy Bloys in Perth

First ever starting probs for me today

Lovely sunny day

Start bike ... no probs

Warm to 70'C+ and ride 0.5 miles to petrol station

Fill up

Back on

Press start ... fired and stalled

Press start ... horrible mechanical metal noises from starter and no fire

Press start ... not enough to turn over the engine

Press start ... nothing

Ignominiously push bike away from pump and onto main road (good long down hill fortunately)

Bump start on second attempt.

Then fine all day with several stops and no problemo on re-start.

What was that all about then?
