Hi All,

Hoping someone may be able to share their wisdom and help out a newbie Tuono owner.

I have just picked up a 55 plate Gen 1 Tuono and I have a question about the cold start lever - What does it actually do?

Ive been searching the forum and the web and have come across a few different answers. Ive read on some threads that its a fast idle lever and other saying it increases the fuel flow...

Reason im asking is my cold start lever doesn't appear to do anything - I.e no increase of idle. Does the functionality of this lever depend on the year of the bike or is this something I need to sort out.

Any help appreciated - James

Are you having problems starting the bike as you say it doesn't appear to be doing anything?
All gen 1 bikes have this and some say it takes a bit of getting used to, getting the setting right

Just to clarify which control you are on about. ?..

Is it the one on the handlebar or the one between the frame and the petrol tank (rhs as seated)

Thanks for the responses Grin & Gray,

Its the control on the left side of the handlebar,

Ive been away from the bike since Sunday so only had 1 day to play around with it, I wouldn't say I have had issues, the bike started up 2nd time and im pretty sure I messed up the first attempt.... I was just curious on its functionality as I expected the idle to increase/decrease as I was moving it back and forth, but there was no change to idle speed at all.

Cheers

The cold start lever basically connects to a cable that opens the throttle by a small amount to aid starting.Moving the lever should alter the idle speed. If it does'nt,it could be the cable needs adjusting.
