The gentleman I'm buying my bike from says the bike has a rev limiter that engages when the motor is cold. Is this true?

It has a rev limiter and comes into play at around 10/11k to stop you over revving and ******* the motor up.
Other than that, I think he's having a laugh with you.

Common sense should stop you Erving the knackers off it when it's cold.

There may be exceptions though, police in hot pursuit, girlfriends husband in hot pursuit etc.

I'm really careful with cold liquid cooled engines, and even more careful with girlfriends' husbands...and I carry a 45.
Thank you!!!

I would tell that gentleman your buying the bike off, your hand engages a hand over the cash limiter when he's speaking *********.

The geezer is probably talking about the stepper motor. Its not a rev limiter, but it does raise the idle revs when cold and lower the revs when hot.
The '06< bikes do not have a choke or cold start lever.Cold starting is taken care of by the stepper motor and the temp sensors.
