Hi guys just a quicky. I have an 09 tuono 30.000 miles and the clutch has started to slip. What friction plates do you recomend..... Thanks john

alright chief

dunno about recommended plates, but make sure there's no air in the the clutch lines before you shell-out, it's happened to me before on the T and simple bleeding solved the slip

are they numbers richt Breen min?

yes mate i use it for training do about 100 miles aday while training and then play in the summer... its my only form of transport.... some of the lads saw the mileage when at cadwell lol

.......ahm pleased tae see a T wi hi mileage as a lot o folk get awe anal aboot pittin the miles oan. Shows whit a strong engine they actually are (despite awe the usual Aprilia lecky niggles and T foibles) ....ah think a lot o the bother folk get is cos they urnae ridin it enough an wi too long lay ups inbetween....

your so right there rico.... hate people that only do 1000 miles a year... why the feck have a bike if thats all your gonna do..... the engin runs as sweet as a peach, no probs, have it serviced every 10,000 miles and canage the oil and filter every 5k, go through a rear tyre every 5 to 6k ,Angle st's with a 180-55 one of the best bikes i have ever ridden

Maybe they only do low mileages due to family commitments, work commitments etc etc etc but like riding when they have time and can afford to have a bike sat in the garage eh. It's like saying I can't understand people who only have bikes and don't drive cars.

You beat me to it Bay, i have 2 kids under 4 and another on the way, work full time so dont get time to do 10000 miles a year :( but i still enjoy it.
Its a bit odd to "hate" someone due to the milage they cover ?? Anyway how many miles need covering to get off the hate list?

It's generally thought that Italian bikes really don't like being sat around unused for long periods of time and low mileage bikes tend to give a lot more trouble than ones used regularly. Dunno why, it doesn't tend to be a problem with Jap bikes.

When my kids were small I went through a few years where I was only doing a few hundred miles a year, now they're getting older I probably do 4-5000 a year. Even when I rarely rode it never crossed my mind not to have a bike in the garage, wouldn't feel right :thumbup

I try to get out as much as possible but I've a 3 year old plus other things on the go as well guys. I've only had my bike a year and as it's a 53 plate put more mileage on it in the last year than the other 2 owners averaged over the previous 6 years. 9000 miles on a 6 year old bike. I've not covered continent covering miles at all but I've enjoyed every moment of it. I've enjoyed joining this site and I've enjoyed meeting up with people off the site. In fact I even enjoy my rants on the site now and again and enjoyed writing my ode to pikey once which made me giggle as I was writing it. I reckon biking is a pretty unsociable past time when on the bike as you cant really talk to the guys you're out with until you get off them at a cafe or pub. That's really only when the socialising begins.

Pikey u gonna make an appearance down this way this summer before the 3rd one pops along. We're having an early start this fri from Aber meeting in Brecon for 9 then heading for crossgates, Newtown and then Hereford.
