Clutch Slave

Hi

Had an Evoluzione Clutch slave from e-bay that I fitted to my '04 Factory Gen 2 track bike. Which worked fine except at the end of long straights when all feeling/pressure had gone from the lever and it took a couple of pulls to get it back. So went back to the original. In doing so I noticed original has an internal spring and the new doesn't.

I presume the engine vibration was pushing the slave piston back and the fluid back into the reservoir and the spring in the original counter acts this - so how does this work with slave cylinders with no internal spring or is there something else I'm missing?

thanks

Chris

Did you buy the Evoluzione brand new? Maybe the return spring is missing? The one from the OEM slave may fit, which would solve your problem, if not, try contacting Evoluzione and asking them to send you the missing part.

Hi

Bought 2nd hand - have tracked down images of the evo slave dissembled and no sign of a spring Leaking Evoluzione Billet Clutch Slave Cylinder?. The internal face of the piston is smooth on the evo so nothing to hold a spring in place and stop it scratching the bore (the original has a boss the spring fits over to hold it in place). Evolzione seem to have disappeared so not sure who to ask.

I suppose the clutch spring should be enough to push the piston back within the slave cylinder. If you are losing hyraulic pressure and having to pump it, maybe you have a weeping seal? Have you check for any leaks?

Hi

yes seals look ok - there's about 4 of them and no sign of anything coming out. I guess I'd better stick with the original for now.
