Clutch oil jet

Hi guys, I'd been toying with the thought of changing the clutch oil jet, it didn't seem to be readily available although I'm sure someone will know where there are dozens. Anyway, I took the oil jet out, having read from various sources how to get it out of its hole, I used a cocktail stick, then measured the hole in it using my micro drills, confirming that is was 0.6mm, I decided to solder the hole and then drill it out to 0.4mm, soldering was easy but I broke one of my drills, still I carried on and finished drilling the hole. I've put the jet back in but as yet I haven't fired it up to check if it's improved finding neutral and changing gear as much as I hope it will. I'm sure there will be many on here who have done this mod and as many who will say it's not required after I've tried it I'll let you know my thoughts.

I finally got around to starting the T today to do a static trial with the gear change. I fired up the bike, started first touch of the button and it's been stood well over a month but the battery is on the optimate for an hour a day through a timer, anyway, once running I tried the gear change, clicked into first fine, tried for neutral and it clicked up into second, but very easily, then from second to neutral, I tried a few times and it always bypassed neutral then went to neutral with the next change. Trying from second to neutral brought the same, straight through to first, but then up into neutral easy, before the oil jet was played with it was almost impossible to move the gear lever at all, so all in all a result I'm pleased with.

:wheelie:wheelieI've been lucky with my T, has never been really bad at getting neutral except if completely static at the lights etc
I got Griff to change the jet when he was doing other stuff for me, did make a difference tho'.
I believe that using the "correct" engine oil and also using Dot 5.1 clutch fluid is the very best thing for the T

Also started mine today - first prod of the starter, due to my cancer op my T has been in the garage for 4 months. I also use an optimate 3 which keeps my battery perfect.

Can't wait for the better weather

Gray :cheers

As you say Gray, can't wait for the better weather to come, I'll be putting the T back on the road at the beginning of April, when we're into BST, Bills summer time, all my toys will be put on the road in shortly after and hopefully many shows attended
