hi guys i am looking for some advice i think the seals are going in my clutch master cylinder and the hayns manual says there is no repair kit available does anyone know of anything that will do the job or do i really have to buy a complete new one

the seal in the slave is new and the fluid still keeps going black i also have to bleed it weekly to keep it working and every time i do air comes out

I would be tempted to change the Slave for an MPL one, and take it from there.
The blackening of the fluid is the lines along with the seal.

if i change the slave its not going to help with the master . i forgot if you look where the the lever pushes the piston on the master then you can see a wet patch where the seal is leaking

There is no repair kit for the oem M/C i'm afraid.

Black fluid is common to all Brembo oem systems, you won't fix it.

i wouldn't buy another oem M/C if you go that route. buy the forged or cast version for 2 reasons

1. They do rebuild kits @ £35

2. it's much better quality an doesn't let air in.

Ive got the same problem on my 05 (which is why im searchin through old threads for advice!)
Did you get it sorted? any idea how much for a new un if this is the only option?

Hello! Erm, my M/C is leaking, so where can I get a "better" one, please? Ta.

Aprilia do not sell spare internal parts for OEM M/C.

your choices are to replace the whole unit or visit a dealer for a manufacturer that does sell the parts. KTM sell some Brembo spares (dust boot) and the M/C main seals can be had from Honda (not a brembo part but a match size wise)

KTM/Brembo Dust boot - Called a "Rubber Cup" in their parts list is Pt no - 61013008000

M/C main seal - Honda CB900 RRW 98 (amongst other Honda models) Called a Master cylinder repair kit - Pt no -msr-106

Ktm sell the parts as they signed a liability waiver with Brembo for diy fitment of the parts. Aprilia etc won't sign it so Brembo will only sell them whole units and external spares

You, Sir, are an absolute bloody STAR! You've gone 2nd in my christmas card list (my mum is first lol ). Thanks VERY much.:thumbup

Hi m8 the ktm kit replaces the whole piston and all the seals part no 61002032000 you should pick it up for around £39 hope this helps.:thumbup:biggrin

Nice info cheers, I was also told you can't get spares for the M/C & both my bikes have got a split dust boot which needs replacing although the seals are still ok.

I think you will need to check if the kit is for the radial mc or the previous one im not to sure myself, but lookin at the exploded veiw of the mc from ktm its the radial mc....
